Continued Manufacturing Process Improvements

Black Oxide Plating- The process used for plating all tie-rods, steel mounts (MF1, MP2, etc), and steel heads & caps. TRD has always relied on outside sources to provide this service. To reduce lead times, TRD made the decision to bring this process in- house (4th QTR 05). This will reduce turn around time by 1-2 days on many special steel parts.
New Black Oxide Plating Line
Welding- Many aluminum and steel mounts require welding to produce. We simply didn’t have the space in our old facility to weld in- house, so we relied on outside vendors. This practice added a few days to our deliveries. Since we now have the manufacturing space available, we will bring this service in-house during 2006.
Painting- Steel cylinders require painting after final assembly and inspection. Currently, TRD doesn’t advertise the fact that we produce steel cylinders. We keep a small quantity of steel head & cap blanks on hand to support distributor requests. To improve our lead-time on steel cylinders, TRD will also bring this service in-house in 2006.
